From the Zabur: “Out of the depths I cry to you, oh Lord; O Lord hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy.” In this verse from the Zabur (psalm 130) the songwriter cries to God for mercy, in his poetry he says about God: ‘let your ears be attentive”. He portays a God who has ears. This is allmost poetic blasphemy: Imagine a God who would listen to you like that, as if he was a friend sitting next to you!
